Erica Hannickel, nonfiction author, environmental history professor, and self-described orchiholic is coming to the Donald and Carol Kress Pavillion in Egg Harbor on Tuesday, October 24, and the latest of her books, Orchid Muse, has just been short-listed as a Top 5 for the Best Nonfiction book award of 2023 by the Wisconsin Library Association.
Erica will entertain members and guests at the Door Garden Club orchid event with her presentation 'Of Empresses and Orchids' during the group's last meeting of the season at 10 a.m. A luncheon, little flower show, and short meeting will follow. Erica's books will be available for purchase and autographs. She will assess the ailing orchid plants of anyone who brings theirs and will offer tips for more blooms.
